Reptiles and amphibians

 The main characteristics of reptiles are:

  1. They are vertebrates.
  2. They are oviparous, they are born from eggs.
  3. They have scales and dry skin.
  4. They breathe with lungs.
  5. They can be carnivores (eat other animals or meat), herbivores (eat plants) or omnivores (eat both).
  6. They can swim, run, walk, climb and slither.
  7. They live in the water or in land.
  8. Some of them like turtles have a shell.


 The main characteristics of amphibians are:

  1. They are vertebrates.
  2. They are oviparous, they are born from eggs.
  3. They have moist skin.
  4. They breathe with gills when they are babies and with lungs when they are adults.
  5. They can be carnivores (eat other animals or meat), herbivores (eat plants) or omnivores (eat both).
  6. They can swim, run, walk or jump.
  7. They live in the water or in land.
  8. Some of them change their body. This change is called METAMORPHOSIS.
