The 5 senses: touch
Touch
- Organ: the skin that has different parts:
- sensory nerves: send the information to the brain.
- We can feel something soft, hard, cold, rough or smooth.
The 5 sense: taste
Taste
- Organ: the tongue that has different parts:
- taste buds: small points in the tongue that identify different tastes.
- nerve: sends the information to the brain.
- We can taste 4 different flavours: sweet, salty, sour and bitter.
The 5 senses: smell
Smell
- Organ: the nose that has different parts:
- nostrils: air enters the nose through them.
- olfactory nerve: sends the information to the brain.
- We can smell about 10.000 different oudors.

The 5 senses: the hearing
Hearing
- Organ: the ears that have different parts:
- outer ear: earflat and earcanal.
- middle ear: eardrum and ossicles.
- inner ear: cochlea and auditory nerve (sends the information to the brain).
- We can hear quiet and loud sounds.
The 5 senses: The sight
Sight
- Organ: the eyes that have different parts:
- pupil: small black point
- iris: coloured part of the eye
- eyebrows, eyelashes and eyelids: stop sweat and dust getting into our eyes.
- retina: sends the information to the brain
- We can see shapes, sizes and colours.

3ºC Circulatory system. Manipulative activity.
Why is the circulatory system important? Is it related to the respiratory system? and to the digestive system?
Alter reflecting on this individually and in groups, we put all our ideas together and concluded that the circulatory system is essential because:
"The heart pumps blood around the body giving our body nutrients and oxygen. Blood also carries carbon dioxide that leaves the body through the respiratory system"
"There are two types of blood vessels through which the blood moves: veins (they carry blood full of carbon dioxide, CO2) an arteries (they carry blood full of oxygen, O2)."
Once we understood it, in groups we:

Once we understood it, in groups we:
- Drew our body silhouette.
- Represented the heart using plasticine.
- Represented veins and arteries using blue and red wool.

Parallel, perpendicular & intersecting lines
Hi there!
We are learning three different types of lines:
Here is a catchy song to help you learn and remember. I highly recommend you sing it!
We are learning three different types of lines:
- Parallels: they never cross.
- Intersecting: they cross in one point and their angles are different.
- Perpendicular: they cross in one point and their angles are equal (90º)
Here is a catchy song to help you learn and remember. I highly recommend you sing it!

3ºC Respiratory System. Manipulative activity.
We have been studying the process of breathing.
To better understand the process we have represented our respiratory system in groups.
After that, we have described the process as if were doctors and patients "What happens when you breathe?"
This way we could visualize an abstract process and laugh while we learn science.
Here is a simple video we have made so you can see and study.

3ºC Digestive System. Manipulative activity.
We have studied the digestive system. To better understand it we have:
It was an activity in groups so we had a lot of work to do in order to come to an agreement, help each other and learn together.
Here are some pictures of the results.
- Represented its organs with plasticine
- Labeled each organ.

We all have positive aspects! / ¡Todos tenemos cosas buenas!
We all have positive aspects and it is very important to let the others know them.
Is why we did this activity, we told to everyone good things in a picture about themselves. At the same time we learnt new vocabulary and adjectives.

3ºA - Manipulative activities about the body systems
3ºB - Manipulative activities about the body systems
3º B
We have been doing some manipulative activities about the body systems to better underestand them.
Here you have some pictures about this funny activities!
THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
THE CIRUCLATORY SYSTEM
The circulatory system
The circulatory system moves blood through the heart and around the body in the arteries and veins.
Blood gives our body nutrients and oxygen.
The heart is divided in 4 parts: 2 ventricles and 2 atriums.
If you want to underestand better the system click on the following videos and enjoy!
Respiratory system
The respiratory system is made up of a group of organs that work together to help us breathe.
When we breathe in we take oxygen and when we breathe out we expel carbon dioxide.
When we breathe in we take oxygen and when we breathe out we expel carbon dioxide.
The different parts of this system are:
- The mouth or nose
- The trachea
- The lungs
